Title: Drug firms liable in Vegas hepatitis C case

I was reading this on Yahoo.

I'm all for holding companies responsible but why are they asking for $600 million in punitive damages? That seems ridiculously excessive. I understand living with Hep C can be difficult but it doesn't take $600M.

A good example of why drug companies and insurance companies have to spend/charge so much money to deal with crazy court rulings like this one.

$600M does sound high but maybe they have to start there to get what they really need? It's a crazy world so maybe in legal speak $600M means $10M?

These people are seeing their chance at a big pay day and jumping on it. That's the American way. I say take them for all they've got!!!

Cookie610 you are all that is wrong with this society. How can you endorse and encourage such behavior? Yes something terrible has happened to these people and someone should be held accountable but within reason. No one needs $600 million dollars.
