Australian Buyer's Club
« on: November 29, 2015, 08:41:23 pm »
Just returned from Sydney.  Everything went beautifully.  No problems.  These guys are great. (fix hepc.com)  If you can afford a trip to Australia and $1900 for the generic harvoni, this is a great way to go.   It is summer now in Australia.  Great beaches and nice people.  Beautiful city (Sydney).   I have been on the meds for 6 days now.  I took my first dose  as soon as I got it in the mail.  If anyone wants to know more please feel free to email me at laublair@icloud.com.
This trip came about because of information I got through Greg Jefferys.  He is very well informed and willing to help us Hep Cer's.  He is cured now but still willing to blog and answer emails daily.  He is good human being!   Thanks Greg.

Fabulous! I am so happy for you, laublair. And thanks for letting the rest of us know how easy it is to go that route. I have friends I will share this info with.

I thought since you went to Australia, you would bring the drugs back with you. But I gather it is sent by mail even with an 'in person' visit?

May the remainder of your 12 weeks be smooth sailing.

Sorry that was confusing,  The buyers club will not send meds out of the country.  That is why I went there.  They sent them to my hotel. (in Sydney) The meds got there the day after I arrived.  They ship them overnight.

I am very happy to be on these medications!  very happy

Hi laublair,
That's great! I'm in Australia and know a number of people on the generics through Fixhepc.com.au
They too are all doing well and happy with the drugs and the Doctor.
All the best, you'll do well.

Did you get to look around Sydney? I'm in Brisbane, but fly to Sydney for shows and exhibitions. I love that city!

Keep posting so we can support you. Cal :)

Very pleased all went smoothly. Hope you got to see a bit of Sydney - I was there on the weekend to see a play, get blood tests done, meet up with my daughter, eat dumplings, go out for breakfast and soak up the sun.

Good luck for the rest of treatment!

Congratulations and best of luck to you!!!   ;D  I'm sure treatment will go well for you.

Regarding U.S. customs, did you have your medication on you or in your luggage?  Did you get any questions or raised eyebrows about your meds?  Frustrating that there seems to be a grey area on whether or not there will be a problem with customs.

I had no problem with customs.  I take a lot of vitamins so I have a large vitamin container I travel with.  I dumped all my harvoni meds in with the vitamins.  If questioned I would have said they were supplements.  Like my friends told me, they are worried about guns and bombs.   I carried them with me just in case my checked bag got lost.

So glad to hear things went well for you. I had considered going to India if I had not gotten approval for the meds. Had already done some checking. Didn't know you could go to Australia and get it as well.

Good wishes on your treatment.

Rubi,
You can't technically get them in Australia, they are still not passed on PBS, free list here. But we have Buyers clubs and also some compounding chemists who export from. China, India and Bangladesh.   They can organise them for you.  Cal :)

Hi Laublair,

I was following your previous posts so it's great to hear that you made it out to visit Australia and source the medication you need. :)

Glad you enjoyed Sydney, you'll have to visit Melbourne if you come over again. A bit cooler but another beautiful city.....hey, what can I say, there's a lot of rivalry between the two towns.   ;)

Living in Aus makes the process a lot easier as my Hepatologist was prepared to write me a private script and I then used the club to access my medication. Different meds to you Laublair as you can see from my signature and genotype/status but still only cost me US$2,555 for 24 weeks.

But with Skype medical consultations and jet planes the world is much smaller now as you know and as you say Greg Jefferys is very helpful with the different scenarios and his proactive stance to his health was what inspired me to enquire how to do it.
