Taking 1 Harvoni pill
« on: July 20, 2015, 10:34:21 pm »
Hi

I was diagnosed with Hep C, 1 months ago. I was told that Is there is a good chance I can get Harvoni after evauation with an Internist.

In the meantime a friend of mine who was cured of Hep C with Harvoni had a single Harvoni  pill left over from his treatment.

He offered it to me. Said it might give me a boost. Without giving it much thought I took him up on the offer and took the single Harvoni pill.

Now,I realize that may have been a poor decision, because of the chance that the virus might develop a resistance to Harvoni by the time I am ready to start proper Harvoni treatment a few months down the road.

Does anyone know if the virus can develop a resistance to Harvoni if not taken as prescribed?

Thanks for any feedback on this.

Kind of weird your friend would have one pill left over those things are like gold to us and I cant think of anyone who would leave one not taken.

Taking someones else meds is NEVER a good idea

As to your question if taking one pill could cause problems you could call my support path or ask your doctor.

patients can call 1-855-7-MYPATH (1-855-769-7284) for assistance

Thank you so much for responding. Frankly I am a bit embarrassed by my lack of circumspection (AKA stupidity) in taking 1 Harvoni pill.

I would like to take you up on your offer to use your support line. (1-855-769-7284)
Do I need a password or any kind of ID to use it?

It is not my support line it is from the manufacture of Harvoni Gilead pharmaceuticals. They also provide assistance in getting covered if your insurance denies your prescription by belong with your appeal and they also may provide a copay coupon to keep your copay at 5 dollars a refill. I believe you would need to be in the U.S. But atkeast the support path nurse should be able to answer your resistance question.

I am just a hep c patient I finished 24 weeks of treatment with Harvoni on May 4th belaying my 12 week post treatment test next week to see if I am cured
