  • My number of posts means nothing, piscor ergo sum!
Almost one year post treatment and the recovery is now starting to show real results.

The "harvoni high" some of us experience during treatment was only temporary, by EOT the arthralgia and myalgia was becoming pronounced again. So I knew I was in for a long haul recovery.

Here is what I am now experiencing:

For over 30 years my range of motion, sense of touch, concert velocity were slowly degraded by the arthritic and muscular debilitating downward spiral of HCV to full blown cirrhosis of the liver. Now my sense of touch, range of motion and velocity is starting to reach concert levels. I can study and play productively for long periods again.

So for those of us who have more advanced liver disease and found that treatment was not a cakewalk the road might very well be a long one but there is great hope for all of us.

Only one year before the advent of direct acting antivirals curing this disease, I had lost all hope, was out of work, in constant pain and was reaching the end of the road. I began to hope that I would meet my end accidentally while fishing the way a good friend did when his heart and body broke down.

I feel truly blessed and wish a new beginning for all of us.

It's always great (and somewhat of a relief) to see the recovery of those who are a few miles further down the road. Thanks for reporting back from our future, Eric!
