Title: first labs
Post by: Deborah on January 16, 2015, 12:26:14 am
Walking on air tonight after seeing my doctor for first lab results.  I'm 5 weeks into an 8 week treatment. Labs were done at 3 weeks and my VL is UNDETECTABLE!  Liver enzymes were 11 and 22.  The plan is for one more set of labs after I finish next month, then assuming still in remission I wait 6 months, get one last round of labs, and then God willing the doctor declares me cured.
Strangely, my normally very low blood pressure was 147/91 which was freaky -- but I have heard this same thing from a few others so hoping it is just the harvoni.
This has been exceptionally easy and was well worth the wait for a kinder gentler treatment.  I have slept well, had more energy than in a long time, no headaches, and spend 24/7 drinking water and peeing.  Hydration cannot be over-emphasized.  When I slack off on water I quickly start feeling nauseated and foggy, but it goes away as soon as I start drinking.  And my eyes are a bit more sun sensitive.  Otherwise, a piece of cake.  I am so grateful - if I ever hit the lottery I would buy out Gilead and get this stuff to the millions who can't afford it!

I'm glad for you!! I'm in it for 8 weeks also and have been passing up Tx for 20+ years for something better.

The same results would be just fine with me.

Magnesium could lower your BP for you but don't take it until your Tx is over if you think it could jeopardize your SVR. I've been taking it but at least 4 hours away from Harvoni, which I take about noon every day.
