Thank you for the well wishes for SVR24.

Nurse told me to keep up the way I have been because my Tx is working for me.
I've been exercising often and taking dry heat saunas.
Harvoni seemed to make me feel more chilled and it's been very cold at times lately, but the saunas have helped me with that.
I've been using my inversion table and other things to increase my circulation, which I think I'll do as long as I live.
A week or two ago I realized I can go to most any gym in town for free with my new Silver Sneakers card, so I went to a gym with dry heat sauna, which I have gotten off and on for several years. I like them, especially in the Wintertime.

Agreed on the Silver Sneakers card. I belong to 3 gyms.. One I pay for as it's just down the street and has by far the best lifting equipment, and to which I belonged prior to my acquiring a SS card.  One of the SS gyms is open anytime and has card key access, and the other is a posher gym which is not so crowded as my regular pay gym,  and is cleaner, but has somewhat lesser equipment.. Between the 3, there'is hardly a day goes by I dont workout.  Love that SS program :)

Wishing you SVR 12, SVR 24 and forever SVR

Thank you. :)

I believe that exercise is an important thing for Tx and any other time.
I go to the gym 3x a week, lately early Mon-Wed-Fri mornings.

I had been going to Planet Fitness which is new and only cost me $11 a month.
They had lots of good equipment but no sauna.
I used to pay $48.50 at one gym. It was really nice but I found other gyms that were comparable for less, and now I pay nothing due to my SS card.

Today is my last day on Harvoni. :)

Day 13, your ALT & AST are probably in the normal range now. It was with me. :)

I took Magnesium all through my Tx. I figured, if I wasn't responding well, I could have quit it for a while but I seemed to respond really well so I took my Mg 4 hours before & after my mid day Harvoni dose.

I took other things too like Vit E, Vit C, Vit A, but usually 4 hours from Harvoni and so far so good.

Just a reminder to all

It is best to check with your doctor about all medications you take whether prescribed, or over the counter. As well as herbals and vitamins you may be taking or considering taking while on treatment

I didn't take a lot of Vit C but I took some (maybe 1-2 grams a day).

My MDs nurse told me to just keep doing what I'm doing at week two and 97 VL, because they were very pleased with my bloodwork results.

Gilead didn't tell me not to take Magnesium either, they just told me to take it 4 hours away from Harvoni.

Harvoni did seem to lower my Magnesium but with me taking Mg every day, I did not suffer low Mg side effects like some people I've read about on here. Why avoid Mg or basic Vitamins if Harvoni is still going to make you Und and normalize your AST & ALT? It didn't make any sense to avoid these things and struggle with the 8 weeks on Harvoni. I used my common sense and it seemed to work just fine for me. They were concerned that something I might take might prevent me from Und status, but that didn't happen. So, I proved (to myself) that Magnesium taken 4 hours from Harvoni, does NOT hinder Harvoni's anti viral actions.

Planet Fitness... the No Judgement Zone!  Just make sure you dont drop a weight, utter a minor grunt, or look at anybody; Oh, and Definitely no bandanas, doo rags, or skull caps; way too threatening!  Congrats on your last day of Harvoni!

Well for me I wouldn't want to take any risk of a cure for a mere 8 weeks of tx. Instead of going my own way and taking unknown chances I would recommend asking for and following your doctor's advice.

Glad things seem to have worked for you hoping you make SVR 12

I don't think they say to avoid Magnesium, it's antacids along with the Harvoni that they tell you not to take. Even antacids are OK as long as they're taken 4 hours away from Harvoni.

I don't know but it seems like some people get paranoid of not becoming Und and they will avoid things needlessly as if it's going to prevent them from getting SVR.

If I have a relapse I can always do it differently the next time I treat, if need be, but like I said, I didn't want to avoid something they didn't necessarily tell me to avoid in the first place. Magnesium has improved my health in many ways and I didn't want to go without it for 8 weeks. :)

Lukey

I might add that if Gilead doesn't tell us to avoid Magnesium then I doubt MDs are going to, or if they do, they're speculating about some possible interaction of Magnesium with Harvoni that even Gilead is unaware of.

Sure I agree if the doc says its ok then it is ok. I have a different perspective from my position. If this treatment does not work for me I don't know if I will have time to wait for the next best thing coming.

I cannot risk a 5th treatment failure with cirrhosis for 7 years now how much time do I have left.

Best to you

I hear you Lynn. :)

Crossing my fingers for both of our long term SVR and eternal normal LFTs.
I think we have a very good chance of it.

I'm not going to fret about it but will make it a point to avoid any possible new sources of viruses.

Congrats on the Und status.  8)

Yes I plan to avoid getting any more tattoos from unlicensed tattoo parlors in the future but other that than I have no concerns of contracting hep c again. I am not a medical person giving shots.

As long as I can avoid getting any tattoos or doing any of my other youthful indiscretions  I doubt lightning will strike twice in the same place.

Good luck to you
