Another Vpak/Riba Win
« on: September 09, 2015, 07:13:05 pm »
Greetings  All,
I just received my 12 week post tx results, and am feeling on top of the world due to the results. However, I do not want to gloat too much because  I know the struggle of battling this and not succeeding. When I went through interferon treatment in 1996, with no success, a most compassionate infectious disease doctor told me to take care of myself the best I  could and to hold on, that new treatments were being developed and  I could try again. I was found appropriate and eligible for this treatment in 2014, and decided to try again and it worked. To those of you  who still wait for chance at beating this,  I say to hold on, take care of yourself, share your story, keep putting one step in front of the other , and  try to live best you can because I believe that there will be new and better treatments still too come, Bless you all, Blondi

Congrats Blondi. Success stories on VP are the minority I believe. Ive been wondering if Ill ever get the energy back I had a few years ago. It has really affected my work and I hope this will make a difference. So far, about halfway in, I have been mostly tired and weak the whole time on meds.

I was just wondering if your ontop of the world feeling was an increase in energy or a mental victory or both.

Hang in there  Deathtohepc,
Remembef that thevpak and riba tx only opened up to us in late 2014. My gi doc has put 21 on this tx and he reports that all  are respondkng positively. He stated that this treatment attacks the virus at four sites making it a guadruple whammy. For me the side effects were totally manageable compared to interferon alone.I had bad days and good days. My energy both mentally and physically has so improved. Yes I have had  some jjoint pain since completing treatment but that may be due to other factors including being more active. I will be patient and positive to see if it resolves. Thanks to all of ya'll - yes I am a Texan- for your support and best wishes.

Blondi,

I'm at EOT undetectable and breathing easier, relieved but not yet feeling on top of the world; however, I think I might get there soon. No need to apologize for such a hard won precious good feeling. Those who are in the pipeline will have that to look forward to. Love your advice! Congratulations!! Whoo-hoo for you!

PS. I feel like I've graduated--in the Post Treatment forum now!
