A recent lab report indication of hep c quantitation of 4,600,00 has me puzzled, can anyone interpret the 'normal' range and whether it is good or bad ?

I had hep most of my life , contracted as a teenager from transfusion (1961)
Treated at age 51 with interferon and suppressed to very low levels but a recent lab test picked up the return
My doc is being very cautious and had scheduled an ultrasound this monday

Seems the virus is active and multiplying. I had 3 Million for the better of 43 years and getting treatment now with a sovaldi combo, went to undetected in 3-4 weeks and I am on 14 more weeks of a 24 week regimen.
Are you feeling OK, any weakness, or pain in the liver? You may not have any serious threats but good to get checked out. Ask your doctor about a fibroscan, as it can point more serious detail or damage if it is there, compared to a ultra sound.
The thing about the HepC virus is it mutates to survive, it something does not kill it all the way, it builds itself to be immune, then other treatments are needed.
The current treatments now, and more coming soon are very aggressive and showing good results. See what the tests show.

Been having weakness, vomiting, no liver pain but a general lack of strength, loss of appetite and weight loss.
This over the last three years, I'm optomistic and will work with my doc to attack with vengeance and eliminate it forever...
