Title: SVR 12 = HAPPY DANCIN' TIME!!!!
Post by: FutureThinker on August 23, 2016, 12:43:45 pm
I just got accepted into the prestigious "SVR12 Club"!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Lots of happy dancing going on around here, to be sure!!!!!! Almost doesn't seem real, I've had HCV for over 40 years, and now it is finally gone. Still don't have what I consider consistent normal energy, but my doctor feels that will come with time. My doctor wants one more lab in 6 months, and then I will be DONE.

All of you on this forum truly made this journey bearable, for which I am so very grateful. You all understand like no others can. The Harvoni "ride" was a breeze, I had so few sides and increased energy for most of it, to boot. I am well aware this isn't the case with everyone, so again, I am very grateful.

Thanks again to all who listened to me, advised me, and supported me for the past year and a half --- it's been quite a journey!!  To all who are struggling to get treatment, KEEP UP THE FIGHT! Don't give up and hang in there -- the fight is worth it.  THE FUTURE IS VERY, VERY BRIGHT! FT

40 years is a long time FT. How wonderful that you're getting a new lease on life. It's really incredible, isn't it? Great news.

Thank you, and esp. to Mike for the great music clip! I haven't heard that song in ages and did some happy dancin' with arms held high! I actually listened to Queen's "We are the Champions" on the way home Monday from my doctor appt.

I don't think this news has totally sunk in yet, as I am sure was the case for others who have had this cloud over their head for a long time and then - poof, it's finally gone. I fully realize I'm not completely out of the woods yet, that will come with the next lab work, but I am being positive and confident it is TIME TO MOVE ON.

All keep the faith! FT

Hey FT! We made it!  Why we almost danced over the finish line together and on the same treatment.  Thanks for the companionship.

I, too, feel great and am doing everything I used to.  I think I flushed the riba pretty quickly, though I was so down at the end of treatment that I needed a touch of ADs to turn the tide. Enough of the despair!

I hope you have some marker or celebration planned.  Funny, but it takes time to believe it's over.

Sincere Congratulations!
Determined + Future Thinker = SVR12  WE WON!

Thanks Determined!  Yes, we decided to postpone our summer vacation this year until this milestone date was reached, so we are now talking about  a getaway in the next month or so.  It's still very surreal! All the best to you and stay determined!! FT

I don't post that often, but I often read your posts.
I'm a forty-year veteran like you, so my 'experience' is maybe similar to yours, in some ways.

A-n-y-w-a-y:
Congratulations!!
I'm really happy for you!

Best regards,
Andrew J.

Thanks, Andrew j!  So where are you in your treatment? How are you feeling? Seems to me you should be done and waiting for the 12 wk EOT test? FT

Yes, FT.

My 12 wk. post-EOT blood test comes up at the end of next week.
I know my timing is similar to yours, to Brie's, and to a couple
of others who post regularly.

Well, we are holding a seat for you here in the "SVR 12 Club"!   Are you a bit anxious at this point? I tried very hard not to get wigged out about it, but the last week of waiting was rough. Keep the faith and please keep us posted! FT

Nerves: not too bad.

The specialist said that if I relapsed, I would know (being as familiar as I am / was
with what the virus feels like).
I continue to feel better (even though I still have some tiredness etc. issues),
so ...

I will keep you posted, for sure.

Thanks to all! It is finally beginning to sink in this morning. Starting to look more forward w/ a sense of lightness, vs. heaviness ...... it is such a wonderful feeling and I wish it for all who continue to fight this beast.

...." and we'll keep on fighting till the end". It's in sight for so many this year!

I posted a note to you under my post, but want to say again that I couldn't be happier for you!  Your new name might be Future Looking Brighter Everyday!!  Just a thought, lol!

Morab and AndrewJ,

I will be thinking good thoughts for you and can't wait to hear how you make out!!  Hoping for the best for both of you!  Brie

Brie, WE DID IT!!  I like your suggestion of changing my name, but I think I'll just keep this one, as I want everyone to be able to genuinely consider their futures with hope and health, once cured!

I remain concerned at the continued high cost of these life-saving drugs and the lack of access for the millions around the world who need them. That's a part of the future I'd really like to see improve, and sooner rather than later. The generic option has been a big help for many, but the cost just should not be so out-of-reach for so many.

Eradication of this disease needs to be front and center.

Any suggestions on how we can influence the future of this cure?  All thoughts are welcome ----- Our futures are bright, FT

Hi FT,

We did make it!!!  I agree!  I remember how lost I felt before my insurance company decided to give the green light after many denials.  I had started the process to apply to support path over a year and a half ago and after having all the necessary blood work my Doctor called and said that support path stopped their program and to come in and see them in 6 months.  Just remember that sinking feeling that I would not be able to get these drugs unless I progressed.   But luckily my insurance company and support path decided to okay it as of January.  Well you know the rest!!  I would love for us to put our heads together and find ways to help whoever we can.  You have a good heart FT, need more people in the world like you!  Brie
