My First Day

Today is my first day taking Harvoni. I was diagnosed with Hepatitis when I was 19 and am currently 25. I was infected from previous drug use and am in recovery now but it is such a blessing to have gotten this treatment! But I also have acid indegestion and it not something I occasionally it it us sun egging I have even from just swallowing if I do not take an antacid. The doctor told me to take Prilosec at the same time as the Harvoni and to not eat for hours prior. But how long till I can eat after? Does anyone have shy suggestions for somebody just beginning on Harvoni as well? Thanks so much!   ;)

Hi!  I too, take Prilosec.    My doctor advised me I can take 20 mg. of Prilosec simultaenously with Harvoni, on a fasted basis.  So upon waking, I take both my Prisolec and Harvoni at 7am and then I eat breakfast at 8am..I also checked with Gilead if this was correct because I'm freaking neurotic!   I believe I was told you can eat within 1/2 hour, but I just rather make it one hour afterwards..

Good luck with treatment!  I just started my 3rd bottle and it is definitely a blessing!

I take a PPI (similar to Prilosec) in the manner you describe. I'm in Week 11 and undetected, so as long as you follow doctor's orders the Prilosec shouldn't interfere with the Harvoni (which is kicking my butt in a few different ways right now).

I didn't want to chance it so I just everything up except for the antacid tablets and just suffered if necessary for 8 hours a day (4 before and 4 after Harvoni).
