Title: couple of question about my treatment
Post by: khodem on October 12, 2014, 03:44:25 am
Hi all,

first of all it's good forum I found here and read people are replaying and giving good information...

This is my history of Hepc and then at the end I have couple of concerns.

I have not been aware that I have hepc for long time ago as when I was kid I got malaria and during this treatment I receive a lot of blood so after almost 15 years I went to donate blood for someone that was in need so in that time I get to know that I have hepc so that changed my life as I was really concern but I'm curios person so I didn't stop their I did multiple test and all come positive.

this curiously lead to do alot of research in internet and found alot of information about it and mood of treatment and even their genomes... after researching I finally decided to go further and found specialist and get appointment  he suggest to do genome test as well as quantitative test so here are the results:

- Genome type 2
- count of virus 1.2 Million
- my liver enzyme test was okay not horrible

so the Dr suggest to do ribviron +  interferon injection for 6 months each week one injection 3 times a day ribviron,

after 4 injection I did quantitative test and come out not detected, so Dr suggested to complete the course like 6 month injection so I done that and after six month I stopped  everything and waiting for 6 month and did another quantitative test and this also come out not detected ... now I'm waiting for one year to check back my quantitative test...

so my Question are:

1- is the virus antibody will remain in my system forever or it will clean up it self?
2- is this will transfer to my wife ? and what are the chances
3- any vaccine is under process for hepc?
4- I lost a lot of hair and have thinning hair will be okay as it's been almost a year and still it's thin

I just told my whole story for those that consider the treatment... just do your research and the more you know about it the less side effect you get as you know what is happening with you....

Yes. You will always test positive for the Hep-C antibody.

No. you can't pass the antibody to your wife

They are working on a Hep-C vaccination, but it is unlikely it will be available in the near future.

Your hair should grow back to it's pre-treatment state in 6-9 months.

Best wishes, Mike
