Twelve weeks of BMS’s “TRIO” combination pill cured 91% of people with genotype 1 of hepatitis C virus (HCV) who did not have cirrhosis in a recent trial: http://www.hepmag.com/articles/TRIO_no_cirrhosis_2501_26385.shtml
When given with ribavirin, the new pill also cured 93 to 98% of people with genotype 1 hep C who had cirrhosis: http://www.hepmag.com/articles/TRIO_UNITY_2_2501_26386.shtml
So far, the most common side effects were headache (26% of subjects reported) and fatigue (17%). Not bad!
