sometimes i take ibuprofen not much , but is it ok? lately there have been threads of mucus when i go to the bathroom. they look bloody. the only thing is, i have been working a lot lately, and our water hasnt been delivered, so, i have not been drinking enough water.i see doc today, but sometimes I think this forum has more up to date answers. thanks zeena

Tylenol, if taken as directed, is safer. However, occasional ibuprofen usually isn't a problem for the average person. The situation you are describing sounds more like it is from dehydration or other problems at the lower end of the GI system, rather than an ibuprofen-related issue.

thank you Lucinda,
the doc said tylenol is processed in the liver and ibuprofen is better. he even looked up the contraindications.could you please explain to me why tylenol is better. i am super curious.

There is a lot of misconception about Tylenol. Here is the thing about it - it can either be the best choice or the worst choice for your liver, depending on how much you take. It is safe if used sparingly - all the liver transplant centers use it and they do not use ibuprofen.
