Title: 1st Dose
Post by: plumbob on July 18, 2013, 08:33:38 am
Hello everyone,
I just administered my 1st dose in my 3 drug therapy,,wish me luck. This is my 2nd attempt at this,,the  1st ended when I could not take the side effects of Incivek. I will be using the boceprovir with the interferon and ribavirin. I hope I can manage because I am somewhat of a wimp when it comes to pain and discomfort. I just wanted to say hello and let others know of my situation.

Best wishes Bobby!  As a person that completed the Incivek triple therapy I will be interested in how you feel the treatment is different and hopefully more tolerable.  They say how many weeks you have to go through treatment?  Fingers crossed for you!

I guess it's time for an update. After 7 weeks of interferon and ribavirin, my viral load went from 160k to less than 4 k. After adding the victrellis for an additional couple of weeks, my virus is now undetectable. I hope I can continue until the end of treatment.

Good luck!  As a 72 week recipient of the joys of interferon, let me assure you that the ends (cure!) justify the means!  I was declared cured May 2013 after contracting in December 1976!  Stay strong!  Here is a great diary of someone that took the same treatment you are on: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_ZGu3eFoF0g Ana is wonderful to listen to.

Elijah, will you be able to try the triple therapy since the double therapy treatment didnt work.  The double therapy  didn't work for me either but the triple (adding the Incivek) did.

Hi Everyone, as we have this discussion about retreatments, keep in mind that we are on the cusp of 2 new treatments which may be approved early December. I wrote about them in my blog. The Gilead regimen looks like a game changer.
