I was diagnosed with Hep C 2 a few months ago. Have recently started Sovaldi and Ribavirin. Gilead, through their Momentum Program. It is covering "half" of the cost. 12 weeks is about 33 thousand. I am in Canada.
I would appreciate any anecdotal info regarding this treatment or experiences with the disease itself.
I am a 59 year old female, considered slightly underweight, don't smoke [stopped even having a glass of wine after being diagnosed], blood work normal... except of course for the Hep C diagnosis.

I just wanted to check on you and see how you are doing, I hope you are doing well and this beast is about gone. If you started around 10/29/14 I hope you had your first 2 week blood test, you may be waiting on those results right now.
I wish I had more to share with you but I am fairly newly diagnosed 56 year old female, l with Genotype 1a and in treatment with S/O. Unfortuneatly I found out because I started having symptoms of cirrhosis even though I didn't drink except maybe a glass of wine here or there and lots of Pineapple/Vodka on vacations every couple of years.
I will be thinking and praying for you that the results are good and you are doing well.

Hi Mel,
I'm doing fairly well with the treatment. The itchiness, that I noticed almost immediately, has backed off and it never was unbearable. My 1st, pre treatment, viral load results were considered high... after one week on meds, it was determined to be very low. I am awaiting the results of blood work done last Thursday [exactly 4 weeks]. I was told I would know this week. Fingers crossed that I will do as well as you have done so far.
I am not sure what condition my liver is in. I too only found out a few months ago that I had Hep C.
