Title: I am an Unlucky Guy
Post by: rajask on November 02, 2014, 01:53:45 pm
I am tested positive for HBV when went to donate blood four months back. I wondered how I got virus? Because till I do not had my first sexual contact, No blood transfusion history, not even a single injection I had got during last three years. Everything quite normal, I do not know how I got HBV? Once I used my cousin's tooth brush unexpectedly, but he is healthy and negative. How I got HBV? I met hepatologist and had all the required tests. Everything normal except HBsAg and HBeAb +ve. PCR count is just around 150 copies per ml. Doctor said do not donate blood, no need of any treatment now because it is in inactive state. Is there any way to clear HBV soon? Because in near future I may travel abroad for my further studies.

Please help me docs..

Hi,
We are not doctors here. We are people who like you, have joined this forum for various reasons.

The first question that comes to mind is, where were you born, and where was your mother born?

Hi

Sorry. I mistook it.
I am from India and my mother also born in India only. In my family no one has the virus. Once I tested positive, I asked them to go for Blood test, luckily, reports were negative.

Advice me what to do now, if some one can regarding my situation.

Thank you

It sounds like you have a liver specialist, so that's good. I think the Hepatitis B Foundation i the US has good info. http://www.hepb.org/ (http://www.hepb.org/)

Have you had a hep A vaccine series? If not, I'd also do that.

Wishing you the very best.
