Title: Hep B risk?
Post by: Brazenas on December 15, 2014, 09:14:14 pm
Hello Everyone. This is my case. Yesterday, I was talking with this person who was diagnosed Hep+ a year ago. Don`t know if he was cured or he has chronic but i know he went to the doctor and had his treatment. As a matter of fact he was drinking champagne with me. The thing is he accidentally spat a tiny amount of saliva into my open eye wich i had an inflammation in it, it was red before this.
I have 2 doses in my body of the anti-hep b vaccine. First the 9/25 and second 10/27. Both were ¨BIOVAC HB 20mcg¨. Im waiting for the third dose on march. Questions I have for you guys:
-Am I at risk? Is saliva a potentially way of spreading the virus?
-Are 2 doses good enough to protect me? There`s no much information on the internet about how hep b vaccines work and I would really love to know the effectiveness of having two shots. How much protection do they give and for how long?

Thanx in advance!
