Title: Hep C Legislation Action Alert - Call your NJ State Senator NOW
Post by: iana5252 on February 05, 2015, 12:10:47 pm
From our friends at the American Liver Foundation...

SENATE VOTE IS AT 2pm TODAY!!!

We were just notified that SENATE BILL 876 was added to the Board list very early this morning and will be voted on by the full senate THIS AFTERNOON!

This life-saving legislation authorizes certain laboratories to perform rapid Hep C testing and would require hospitals and health care professionals to offer hepatitis C testing to individuals born between 1945 and 1965.  People born between 1945 and 1965 are five times more likely to be infected with hepatitis C than people in other age groups.  Offering testing to this group will focus the fight on those with the greatest risk of being infected.

PLEASE CALL YOUR NJ STATE SENATOR NOW AND URGE HIM OR HER TO VOTE YES on S876 TODAY!

You can look up your senator's name and phone number by the town you live in at www.njleg.state.nj.us.

When making your call, please ask to speak with the legislator's Chief of Staff or Legislative Aide. State your name, the town you're a resident of, and if you would like that you are a volunteer with the American Liver Foundation.  If you have a personal Hep C story to share please do so!  Follow up with an email (email addresses are SenLASTNAME@njleg.org).
