Title: Risk evaluation
Post by: DoIHaveHCV on March 04, 2015, 07:14:05 am
Slept with unknown status female for two weeks 4-6 wks ago.

No protection 10-12 times over 2 wks.

5th sexual partner for me; no clue for her.

She has a history of heroin use before her stay in prison 3 years ago.

Had full hystorectomy, used plenty of lube, never noticed blood.

Should I even be worried about hcv?

I want to assume no since hcv is primarily transferred through blood to blood, but Im planning on getting tested at 3 and 6 months to be safe.  I have terrible anxiety and two months is a long time to worry about something.  Is 3 months usually conclusive?  Got bloodwork done at 3 weeks, but im told that negative resultis unreliable

Wat do you guys think?  Am I at risk, or am I over reacting?

I don't think there's much of a risk, as HCV is rarely transmitted through sexual activity.

I would probably lay this to rest and remember to use protection when engaging in causal sex (there's a lot of STD's that can be transmitted rather efficiently through sexual intercourse e.g., herpes, gentile warts, gonorrhea, syphilis to mention a few).

Best wishes, Mike
