Title: 4 week blood results
Post by: Momof3 on March 21, 2015, 01:01:33 pm
Well I got my 4 week blood results and VL came back from 689,000 down to less than 15 but still detected. I am happy and disappointed in one. I was hoping to see UND but my nurse and doctor assured me that these results are fine and on track. I asked to extend my treatment to 12 weeks instead of staying with my 8 weeks, and both agreed saying it wasn't necessary, that studies show that the 4 week viral load doesn't have to be UND to have an SVR at the end as long as my viral load responded the way it did wich they say is practically undetected. So I have to have faith in them and everything that this will all work out! Trying to stay positive through this and hoping they are right. All my other bloodwork is excellent and everything looks great there so I guess that's reassuring!

Side note my baby boy and I spend the night in the hospital he caught pneumonia and was burning up and breathing very rapidly. This on top of my 4 week labs has made for a long week :(

Under 15 is amazing! I bet at 5 weeks, it would be UND. Too bad you can't get those labs done. Keep your chin up, you are defeating the monster!

I'm sorry about your baby. I'm glad he's got help. I know it's even more stress on you, though.

All-in-all, everything will be ok. Your baby will get well and you will be cured. (((HUGS)))

Don't worry you are doing great and are very close to being undetected. You will be there sooner than you think. Sending wishes for a quick recovery to your little one.  :)

I bet that by tonight you are negative! I'm amazed that you have hcv, can be on this treatment and take care of your young children. WOW. Give yourself a high five...

I hope your lil one is coming home soon. It's been a tough cold season.

Folks.. Dont obsess about being UND while on treatment. Its not necessary for achieving SVR.

Thanks everyone for the encouragement and well wishes for babe. He is better now that the antibiotics have kicked in.

Meg I loved that post! Your right I do need a high five! The kids have all really made treatment fly by and really kept my mind off obsessing over every little thing!

April 7 is my Last day and I will have bloodwork then so I am really thinking positively that this will work :) 16 days left

momof3, I can sympathize with your results. I had VL tested at 3 weeks at which point it was not undetected--it made for a bad week. But I'm assured that my numbers look good, seems like yours do as well. Hang tough; this disease is a mean taskmaster, but the odds are with us. I go in tomorrow for a VL test (it'll be the start of my sixth week, fingers crossed). The detected numbers fortified my commitment to eat more blueberries and other healthy liver anti-oxidants, but I ain't saying I'm a health food freak.
