Title: hep B treatment

I was diagnosed with acute hepatitis b on February 20, 2015. I was feeling sick and tired and was jaundiced. my last lft results dated March 2, 2015 showed alkaline phosphatese of 246, AST 85, ALT 311 total bilirubin of 65 and total bilirubin of 32, albumin 34. INR 1.1, PT 12.3, PTT 27. White blood cell count 7.8, hemoglobin 11with mcv of 92.1 and Platelets 294. Previous ferritin of 2225.
I don't know what the normal levels should be? and my liver doctor is talking about treatment however everything I have read states you don't treat acute hepatitis b only chronic hep b?
I was sent for more blood work for HBV DNA level and E antigen or antibody status and go back to the doctor on April 7th for results. Why would I need treatment if it is an acute infection?.

I realize that it's been a while since your post and you said you had ACUTE HBV. But I will answer if you or others want this information.

Here are the reference ranges for the liver tests

ALT. 7 to 55 units per liter (U/L)
AST. 8 to 48 U/L
ALP. 45 to 115 U/L

So your tests are pretty elevated. Your WBC looks excellent. Mine is down near 2.4 right now but I am on treatment that causes that. I'm not sure on the reference ranges for the rest.
