Brief History: diagnosed June 2014, don't know when I was infected.
geno type: 2
Biopsy Score: I did not have a fibro scan or a biopsy
Pre treatment: 3.5 million vl, all other blood work normal
TX start date: October 17, 2014
Treatment Protocol: 12 weeks of 400mg of Sovaldi and 800 mg of Ribavirin
Side Effects: fatigue, itchiness.
Viral load:
3.5 million at start of treatment
18 at 4 weeks
undetected at 6, 8, and 12 weeks.
SVR at 12 weeks after the end of treatment.
I am told that I am cured.
[I suffered a lot of anxiety because I did not know what state my liver was in. The decision to do 12 weeks was made after looking at my blood work and palpating my liver. I learned too late that a biopsy, a fribroscan, or both are important to determine the proper length of treatment.]

Per the prescribing information sheet for Sovaldi that comes with your bottle the only treatment recommended for GT 2 is 12 weeks of Sovaldi and weight based Ribavirin

Rating: Class I, Level A
Extending treatment to 16 weeks is recommended in patients with cirrhosis.
Rating: Class IIb, Level C
Based on your lab work your doctor can tell a lot about your liver. I was probably infected with hep c for 30 years when I finally was diagnosed with cirrhosis. I was being followed closely for 18 years by then of knowing I have hep c.
I am sure your liver is fine and GT 2 has a very high cure rate
You said you are SVR 12 after treatment has ended so you have completed treatment 12 weeks ago and remain undetected congratulations you are cured of the Hep c virus.
