Title: Worrying About Hep B
Post by: ershan on April 24, 2015, 09:17:27 pm
Hi guys ,

6 weeks before i went to CSW and sucked her breast, and i remember i swallowed something. and then she masturbated me by hand. Will this cause HEP B?

Also could you please provide me the right window period to test HEP B?

Please help me , i am worrying a lot.

Also some one please let me know the window period for HEP B?

Although you didn't say what you swallowed, these practices are not normally risk factors for hep B. If you have hep B, this is a good time to be tested.

Here is some info from the CDC:
How long does it take for blood to test HBsAg-positive after exposure to HBV?
HBsAg will be detected in an infected person’s blood an average of 4 weeks (range: 1–9 weeks) after exposure to the virus. About 1 of 2 patients will no longer be infectious by 7 weeks after onset of symptoms, and all patients who do not remain chronically infected will be HBsAg-negative by 15 weeks after onset of symptoms.

If you are concerned about sexually-transmitted diseases, I highly recommend hep B vaccination and learning about safer sex practices.

Yes , i don't remember what i swallowed, I believe No blood (since when i pressed she didn't react i believe there is no WOUND) mostly i swallowed some of her breast milk.

I have given the below test HBV DNA Detection by PCR. Is this test is worth?

Talk to your doctor or public health official about the antibody test - the PCR is more expensive, and likely unnecessary.

Here no one is familiar with hepatitis. And more over in India it costs around 4 thousand. I dont mind to spend for my peace of mind . I have given my blood already .All i need is HBV DNA test is conclusive or not?

Generally, the hep B antigen and antibody tests are done first, but you could start with the viral load. However, it won't tell you if you are immune. Given the amount of worry you are experiencing, it would be good to get the vaccine.

HBV-DNA detection by PCR TEST will detect the HEP B virus in our blood right? IF that is not detected then i dont have HEP B in my body . Will that right?

If the test for the hep b virus is negative that is correct you don't have hep b. Negative is negative.

No virus no infection

Congradulations

Hi All ,

After my 6 weeks exposure i have taken the below test , will that be conclusive or do i need to take any more test?

Hepatitis B Virus (HBV) DNA Qualitative (Detection) - COBAS TaqMan
Test: Qualitative (Detection) of HBV DNA from patient`s plasma or serum by
standard procedure on COBAS TaqMan
Equipment: COBAS AmpliPrep and COBAS TaqMan
Limit of Detection: 20 IU/ml.
HBV-DNA Detection NOT DETECTABLE
Result Interpretation: 1. A positive HBV DNA result indicates active infection in the individual.
2. A NOT DETECTABLE result indicates the absence of HBV infection or
resolved/convalescent stage of infection or the viral copies is below 20 IU/ml.

A-G genotypes is selected for amplification and detection.

Hi guys,

over the past two weeks i have been in hospital with rare rash condition as well as  aching joints and muscles. however, since being discharged from hospital all symtoms have subsided and i was completely on the mend. Today i received a phone call form my doctor at the hospital and he confirmed i had caught Hepatitis B. As far as i am aware i have acute Hepatitis B and there a very high chance of full recovery form the virus by means of my immune system creating an antibody which fights the virus until i become immune to the disease. whilst is the hospital i had many, many blood tests taken and (before they new i had contracted HEP B) one of the tests showed abnormal functionality in my liver. After my diagnosis of acute Hep B i have been made clinical arrangements for a liver scan because of this result.

my worry is (im hoping someone could shed some light on this) that abnormal liver functionality only occurs with 'chronic HEP B' and i am worrying that my chance of fighting the virus naturally has already slipped away and my disease my have already moved into the more serious stages of the infection.

can anyone please, either, reassure me that this can me normal with acute HEP B or on the other hand, break me the bad news that my body my be already showing signs of chronic HEP B.

Thank you for taking the time to read this. if someone could get back to me it would be much appreciated.

thanks.

Those questions would be best answered your doctor
