Title: Liver enzymes
Post by: 1yss223 on June 26, 2015, 01:22:00 pm: So I just went in to get the results from my 2nd week blood test while being on vikiera pak w/ ribavirin. I was told that my liver enzymes were officially in the normal range. He told me when I go back for more blood work in 2 weeks they will tell me if the virus is still detectable in my body. Can anyone tell me what the number is for a normal enzyme level? And also, does this increase my chance of having the virus be undetectable in 2 weeks? Thanks for any guidance!

Post by: lporterrn on June 26, 2015, 02:30:45 pm: Normal ranges differ - what's important in this case is that your are in the normal range for that lab test. Normal ALT means that your viral load has likely dropped to a low enough level that your liver can now start to rest and regenerate - it does not necessarily mean you will be nondetectable, but it is in and of itself very good news.

Ast- 20
Alt- 29
Viral load- undetected

I also have my first results after 18 d treat, my AST and alt drop from around 230 to 45. For me is the first good news. Just waiting for vl result.
