Well,I'm on the backstretch rounding the turn to the finish line! 20 pills left July 21 last pill of a 12 week treatment, at week 6 my ALT & AST NORMAL, I was not given any numbers, was just told normal. This Harvoni has been cake as far as any side FX. I've been seeing that what matters most is bloodwork 6 months after treatment. So I'm hoping for the best. I still itch,I have been hoping that would go away,I've had that a few years,so it's not a symptom from Harvoni,I turn 60 in Aug. and have read aging causes itching, a LOT of things cause itching, has anyone gotten any little hard bumps about like the size of a pimple on your skin? I had a few on my legs and arms, and at one point my chest, and again,this has been before Harvoni and still going on,they come and go after a while. I wish everyone the best! Hang in there if you're just starting to treat,time has been flying by for me,still playing gigs,riding my motorcycle...Stay positive!!!

Good for you Bassman! You are on the home stretch it sounds like as far as TX goes and that is great that your AST/ALT's are good.
I too have had a "cake walk" so far with side effects but I am only at day 7 of an 8 week treatment so I'll have to see how that goes.
Hopefully someone can answer your question about the bumps and itching. I have had itching too over the years and really dry skin but don't want to speculate on the cause and be wrong here.

hey bassman , 20 laps to go and you take the checkered flag ! and the trophy is priceless !
i've also had itching the last couple years, mostly in the winter when it's cold and dry but this year more so , ..after 2nd week tx it became much better which surprised me as im on riba....but sensitive to the sun , i get sunburn quick if i don't apply sunblock when im out.
the motorcycles are important !.....it's my therapy as well !

I hear you about time flying. It's almost scary how quickly 12 weeks went for me.
I've had itching prior to Harvoni on a specific point on my back, but more so under my arms with a few small hard bumps. The itching is pretty intense as well. It's kind of embarrassing scratching the underarms in public!
I keep threatening to go to a dermatologist...
Anyhow, best wishes on the last leg of the race.

Sabre...you had the itching before treating? or after? I only found out I had HCV about 1 1/2 years ago and have been itching since 2011,didn't know what was going on,and then I saw itching comes from a liver in distress(among MANY other ailments) s o when I found out I was HVC positive I figured it was from the hep. My back was driving me crazy! and crotch. Now my back has eased up a bit. This itching has been like a curse .... >:(

I've had itching prior to treatment. The spot on my mid-back does not have any bumps and is a deep itch. Always in the exact same spot. It doesn't really bother me, I just find it odd.
I thought scratching my armpits was embarrassing, but you've got it much worse with the crotch...my sympathies, brother. Hope that eases up for you!

Same place on my back too,but it has subsided . NOW....I have an itchy rash on my thigh? I'm thinking WTF??? It's either from the Harvoni,or something going on elsewhere. I've read Gall bladder,thyroid,kidneys,liver... all kinds of things can cause itching,it's a curse!

I have stage 3 kidney disease, so maybe there is a link there.
Since you're itching/rash seems to be migrating, you may want to mention it to your hep or gastro doc.

You know,I've mentioned my itching to a few doctors before and they just say "dry skin" This I believe is HCV related! Doctor's have even said HCV doesn't cause itching!!! I tell them,go look at some HCV FORUMS!!! I even read that when your liver is in bad shape,it can't clean your blood of toxins,and toxins are what is in your blood making you itch! I read that a few places. My Fibrosure test has me at A3 severe,meaning my liver has been getting pretty well beat down by the HCV,although I never turned yellow or anything? So right now, I have an itchy spot on my right calf and left thigh ,on the outside.SUX!

Yay!!!excited for you!!! It really does fly by (the time)...I don't know about itching ,however,I'm hoping & praying this insomnia takes a hike ASAP now that I swallowed my last pill yesterday morning!!! I'm relieved that the religious pill popping is over,but anxious about the whole "hurry up & wait" game...it is what is but I still can't help the feelings accompanied by waiting to see...wish you the very best!!!!

I am excited for your finish line being in site Bassman. I am going on 2 weeks now for my treatment. I was originally scheduled for 12 weeks but now it has been bumped to 24 weeks do to my body rejecting Interferon in 1998. They explained at that time that African Americans did not respond to the drug. But there is great success with the Harvoni. Please keep me in your prayers that it will work this time. I have been infected for over 35 years and hoping and praying this will work. God bless you all on your journey.

My prayers are with Mcfee....Stay strong....think positive....and drink lots of water! I've heard about how hard the treatments were years ago,Thank God there are drugs out now that are much easier to deal with! Hang tough!!!! :)

Wow! Last pill Jiff ??? GREAT!!! I wish you all the very best with the all important test 6 months from now...I'm staying positive and let the cards fall where they fall,does anyone even know what happens next if Harvoni doesn't do the trick? Is there a Plan B ??? Celebrate your last pill with a BIG GLASS OF WATER!!!! LOL Cheers...To health and happiness! :)
