I was diagnosed 20 years ago nearly to the day. At the time, the treatment options were miserable, so I opted out. Thankfully, the disease has not caused any damage to my body, but hearing about the ease and success of new treatments I decided to take the plunge. Now, just four weeks into my eight-week Harvoni treatment cycle, the disease is already undetectable in my system and I have had no adverse affects from the medication. Four weeks left to go!
For those suffering from side effects, I feel for you! Try to keep in mind that these new treatments are very successful at eradicating a disease that could evolve into a significantly more uncomfortable medical condition. Hang in there!
