Hello, Just would like to say thank you to all people I was asking before my treatment. Most of you were taking this with Riba.
I am on Viekira Pack day 3. I started this in Clinical Trials in Poland.

You know, I am taking this as Vitamin C, there are no side effects at all. Nothing. I even do have much more energy than I had before. I have a feeling that those people from Harvoni are doing only a good marketing because Viekira Pack is very good. No single headache, tiredness, nothing!:)
Will it be like that as light after a week or 2 or should I expect anything?
40 y.o, Genotype 1b, TT, Starting from 1400000 VL, F1 almost F2, treatment naive

Without ribavirin, you might notice some fatigue, nausea and headache. Perhaps a few other assorted side effects. Once my ribavirin was reduced I felt great. I'm on 24 weeks - three weeks left. :)

When those effects could start? 3 days and nothing bad happens:)

I noticed some side effects after about two weeks. Nothing too bad though.

I am, yes. There are others here who are not on riba though and they may give you a different opinion.

Week 7 Viekira no ribavirin. Glad you are having a good first week the SE come and go and you may get them later in the treatment road but they are tolerable.

Its the riba that causes side effects in some people.
One of my nurses told me (when I hesitated tx) that it was riba interacting with peginterferon that gave me my previous baaaaadddd sides. She was right in my case..... riba by itself is uncomfortable but so much easier that old school riba/peg.
I've seen lots of people not bothered by riba at all, others have issues. I experience anxiousness, being out of breath (not anemic though) and itching. The itching is weird, its usually on my face but never in the same place on my face. I scratch it and it stops.. others have said "don't scratch", but it doesn't bother me as I never develop the "riba rash".
I had no side effects the 1st week at all, 2nd and 3rd were the worst , and I even developed "weepiness" where things on tv and events made me want to cry. That has lessened a great deal.
In fact every day is a little better. Knock on wood.

Hi, I am on the 5th week of Viekira Pack no Riba. No side effects at all - I am feeling much better and much more energy. The only thing I would like to ask because for last 5 days I have a feeling as my larynx on the left site is painful especially while eating and drinking. It is the same for a few days already. It feels as if I have a bruise there. It is the same for a few days. No other side effects. Could it be a side effect of treatment? I never had anything like this. Apart from that I feel very well.
Genotype 1b , started treatment with Viekira Pack 18th of Aug 2015, initial VL 1400000, after 2 weeks VL 120, after 4 weeks VL below the possibility to measure it. GGTP went normal, it was always around 90.

Hi mcmaklin,
I finished my vpak riba about 2 months ago - ubdetected since week 4! - and yes, I had similar sides with my throat. It would kind of close up when eating or talking - I would be in the middle of a conversation and start coughing and not be able to speak - would sip water and pop some cough drops. No real pain though, just kind of felt thick.

But I Am not taking RIBA and this is only on the left side and not that bad as you describe..

Maybe mention to your tx nurse or specialist? I haven't had that sxs I am on ribas with my v pak. Good luck. Cal :)

good suggestion from Cal - talk to someone about this - could be a vpak side effect, but who knows? Everything I felt during treatment I attributed to the treatment itself.
could be something totally unrelated and best checked out.
