Looks like you're clear, Tomtom!

Make sure you follow-up with the doctor who ordered the tests.

Best wishes, Mike

Thanks guys for the quick reply, yet in the last post I forgot to tell that i got a positive in the Hepatitis A test. Does it make any difference. Some thing else, I just wanted to ask about this Viral load number or criteria or whatever it is     <12    what does it mean.

Hepatitis A test will not effect hepatitis C test result.

The <12 (read as less than 12) is the lower limit of quantification ability of the test (LLOQ) meaning that the lowest number the test can count (quantify) is 12 IU/mL the test might detect a positive for the virus but cannot determine how many so the result would be something like "virus detected <12".

But as your result was negative the point and meaning are moot.

In any event you do not have hep c and depending on if the test for hep A was a viral load or just an antibody test if just an antibody test it would only mean you had been exposed to hep A at some point in your life.

However the best and first source of answers to your questions should ALWAYS be your doctor. Most here are not medical professionals just fellow hep c patients sharing knowledge and support as we go through treatment and suggestion for questions to ask our doctors.

For medical advice you first choice should always be your doctor.

Congrats on being free of hepatitis c
