Title: HBV Core AB non-reactive but Igm is positive/indeterminate
Post by: newlife on September 12, 2015, 06:49:59 pm
After my last exposure 4 months back (one time, protected sex), i tested for STDs few times (online ordering) and for HBV they only do Igm specific tests. Results from 9 days, one month and 13th weeks tests all results were -ve. Results from 17th week blood draw flagged +ve for HBV Igm. Then i went to my primary physician and he order complete HBV panel tests.

HBV DNA, PCR QUNTITATIVE: -ve
HBV surface AG: -ve
HBV Core AB TOTAL: -ve
HBV Surface AB Quantitative: -ve
HBV Core AB IGM: Indeterminate and flagged as abnormal.

Is it possible to have HBV Core AB IGM as +ve and still HBV Core AB TOTAL is non-reactive? What is the meaning of 'Indeterminate' results? Its indeterminate since HBV Core AB TOTAL is non-reactive or Igm is very low?
