Title: menstruation and hep c
Post by: xitlali on October 22, 2015, 01:55:26 am
Hello ,i have a question when you menstruate how do you properly clean your hands after you change your pad? I have heard soap and water do not kill the virus and i have also heard alchol doesnt either
Im especially concerned because my one year old has a cut on her leg and im terrified of giving it to her (since soap doesn't kill it, its still on my hands, im mensurating)
Also i dont have any band aids or sanitizer

So far we have no evidence of hep C being transmitted via menstrual blood. Washing your hands with soap and water and lots of friction should be sufficient.

Hi xitlali

Are you planning on treating your hep c soon? Did you know there are new recently approved medicines that are much better tolerated than the old treatments, highly effective, and can be as simple as 1 pill a day for 8 weeks?

You could be cured of hep c and never have to worry about infecting your daughter or anyone else.

See your doctor and ask about what treatments are available to you.

Good luck
Lynn
