Title: Harvoni Ads on every page pop up?
Post by: Mr. Bob on December 19, 2015, 01:25:18 am
Is there a reason for Harvoni ads all over this site  they must be paying big bucks for all the promotion.....................No Abbie  advertisement ?

I'm not sure what you are seeing, as I don't see them. I've never seen a pop up here. Is it possible that your browser is throwing them up because of recent searches?

Regardless of the reason, thanks for letting us know, I'll report this and see if someone has more information for you.

I am not seeing any Harvoni ads either. The only things labeled "Advertisement" on this screen I am looking at right now are an ad from World Health Organization that says "Prevent Hepatitis", and a second ad that says "Dispose My Meds" advising people to take unused medication to their pharmacy for safe disposal.

I have been on these forums daily for the past 9 months and have never once seen an ad for Harvoni or any other drug. And I have never seen pop-up ads of any sort on this site.

Most of the time, the ads I see in the top, left side, and bottom ad slots are indeed by Gilead. Before I hit reply, they didn't happen to be (the bottom was the World Health Organization one Kim saw, and the one at left was advertising Hep Stories), but when I hit reply, it's back to hepchope.com in all 3 slots. I don't recall ever seeing a Vpak ad.

I'm under the impression web site owners don't actually get to choose which ads get displayed when and to whom. Could someone at Hep Magazine confirm or negate that?

I agree, Natty....     Those adds individuals see are often a product of individually installed adware tracking...   Can also be a product of malware or, at least, adware installed on the local pc.

Only adds I see on this page are WHO hcv prevention ad at bottom of page, and a  Gilead hepchope.com on the left and top.  BTW, these ads frequently rotate so its possible a Harvoni one creeps in.. But again, this site doesnt choose what specific ads are displayed, and theyre displayed on a revolving basis.

I can't speak for Hep and I know nothing about pop-up ads or the business side, but I do know that no ads = no HepMag.com. I'm sure if AbbVie wanted to to advertise, they could. One of the reasons why I hold Hep in high regard is because although they rely on advertising, they don't censor their writers.
