Title: Stuck by a sharp plant blade
Post by: Johnjake687 on January 04, 2016, 10:41:35 am
I got stuck by a sharp plant blade in a drug infested area.  It went through my pants and I immediately started bleeding.  Two weeks later I had a physical and my liver enzymes were slightly elevated.  Now I'm worried that I could have been infected with hep c.  Am I being paranoid or could this be a route of transmission.

By plant blade, do you mean a plant that grows in the ground? If so, this is not a transmission route. As for liver enzymes, lots of things can elevate them, such as a drink the day or or day before, and fatty liver usually from diet. If you have any concerns about hep C, get an antibody test about 8 weeks after you suspect an exposure. If that test is positive, check back in with us and people will help you through the next phase.

Good luck.
