Title: Allergy to Harvoni?

Dear all,
after my quick relapse after 8 weeks Harvoni Genotype 1b, with heavy side effects I eagerly wonder why.
Doctors seem to know very little.
Week 3 and 7 during therapy undetected.
Resistance will be tested.
Apart from this: couldn't it be a simple allergy?
First 3 weeks everything was normal. Then heavy nausea and diarrhea started, becoming worse and nearly unbearable from day to day. Apart from this, not a single pill was vomited. The other end I can't say if they passed too quickly. Gilead said that's not possible, harvoni is resorbed in the upper  intestinal tract.
Has anyone experienced the same or heard of?

It's important for me to know. Want to be best prepared for my appointment in hospital this week.

According to my experience nearly everything has to be found out by patient himself.

Hi Maxi,
This doesn't sound like an allergy, but does sound like an adverse reaction (assuming it isn't a drug-to-drug interaction, or drug-to-supplement interaction). There is mixed research on the 8 week use of Harvoni. The HCV Guidelines have removed it as a recommended length of treatment: http://www.hcvguidelines.org/full-report/initial-treatment-hcv-infection (http://www.hcvguidelines.org/full-report/initial-treatment-hcv-infection) However, other data support it. And then if you have a resistant strain, the length likely wouldn't have mattered - you'll just need a different regimen.

My doctor as well as health insurance based their decision for the 8 weeks on ion3.
I believed.
The link is for initial treatment. Unfortunately, now treatment experienced what never should happen according to my doctor, whom I trusted 16 years.
I would be very grateful if you could send me information/link concerning guidelines for treatment experienced people.
No alcohol, no drugs, no forbidden supplements. All meds I take were carefully discussed with my doctor. Blood pressure remedies and beta blockers, Zolpidem.
I'll post what I found out why I relapsed. It's so important to share experience to prevent other from wrong decisions regarding this life threatening disease.
