I was on a 8 week Treatment on harmoni. I finished 2 weeks ago. My brain fog, and fatigue has been worse after a quit harvoni. Can anybody tell me how long this side effect after quitting harvoni will be there? It´s strange, because the medication have half-life on 47 hours, and should be out from my body now.

tiovoll, congratulations on completing your 8-week Harvoni treatment. I, too, experienced more fatigue for a few weeks after treatment than I did during treatment. Some other people have, too. Although I am not a doctor, and therefore I don't know but can only guess, Harvoni is so powerful and quickly effective that perhaps our bodies have to readjust to its withdrawal. Our immune systems were confused by the hepatitis C virus, then they were confused by the powerful medicine that killed the virus, then they are confused by Harvoni's absence.
In my case, the post-treatment fatigue lasted a few weeks. I finished Harvoni almost 9 months ago; after that readjustment period, my energy level has been better than before treatment. No two people on Harvoni have exactly the same experience, so I can't predict when you'll recover your energy, but I hope it will be soon.
Best wishes,
Gnatty

Hi tivoli,
Well congrats on finishing up your treatment. I finished my 8 weeks of Harvoni about 5 weeks ago. I also did not feel well after the treatment ended. I had some minor side effects while treating so I also expected it to just go away. Fatigue persisted for about a month. I did however start taking a multivitamin, probiotic, green drinks everyday! I feel good now, just nervously awaiting results!! Hang in there, I think you will feel better very soon. Brie

Thanks! And thank you for sharing your experience with Harvoni . I also believe that the body holds on to adjust after a hard cure at Harvoni . It's a little scary , but hope it soon will pass.

IT WILL PASS, stopped harvoni 4 months back and still recovering

I'm lucky; I finished my 12 weeks 2 weeks ago, and while I felt slightly "off" for the first week or so, the last 4 or 5 days have been the absolute healthiest and most "normal" I've felt in many years. I think Gnatcatcher basically has it nailed - your entire body had been devastated for years by the hepatitis; the liver is an organ that controls or influences the functions of many other organs and systems, which were all thrown out of whack because of the hepatitis, plus the immune system was severely compromised by the constant infection.
Now, all of a sudden, all that's gone. So your immune system is suddenly hitting on all cylinders, and many of your other organs and systems are starting to work differently than they have in many years because they're no longer getting bad information from the liver. Your body feels differently than you can remember it ever feeling, and a lot of your systems are just bouncing back and forth trying to readjust to the new normal - which is itself constantly changing, because your liver is still not finished healing.
So yeah, different people are going to really have very different reactions. I think we'll all be fine; we'll just each have to follow a slightly different path to our new normal.

Thank you for sharing your experience. It have gone 3 weeks and 2 days since I quit Harvoni Tretment. I feel better for every day now. I am in full job now, so end og the day I feel little press in my head, and little brain fog. I eating very healthy now, much fish, drinking green tee, and take multi vitamins + B vitamins. I think this help to build up my imune system, and my organs again.
