Title: Serious Question
Post by: hlpplz on July 03, 2016, 07:34:57 pm
Think I was played for drugs. My supposed fiance had hep C. Was in jail I was paying for the regular treatment.

She then tried to kill herself, went to mental hospital. Claimed they had a 1 time shot to get rid of it. Shot #1 didnt kill it so paid for second shot.

From my reading no drug exists am I correct?

Hi hlpplz. There is no one-time shot that will cure Hepatitis C. There are however pill treatments that will cure Hep C, and are curing it in of thousands of people. It is usually a 12-week course of daily pills for most people with Hep C.

There are shots to prevent Hep A and Hep B. I received these vaccines three months prior to Hep C treatment. Both vaccinations require two injections spaced six months apart.

Hep-c use to be treated with Interferon, which was injected. However, this required  daily and/or weekly shots over a 48 week period. The side effects were horrendous.

Interferon-based treatments are rarely, if ever used anymore. They are not, and never were, one shot treatments.

Those were the old days and now, Hep-c is treated with a single or combination of pills taken on a daily basis.

Best wishes, Mike
