Title: Harvoni One Month Update
Post by: patrick.m18 on October 09, 2016, 04:46:49 pm
Hey everyone-

So tomorrow (10/10/16) I will be picking up my first and only Harvoni refill. That means I have made it four weeks on the medicine. I feel really great. I haven't had many side effects to speak of. Maybe a very light headache after taking the pill but it goes away with the more water that I drink. The other thing I want to speak on is joint pain. Im a runner and run 2-3 miles average a few times a week. Last night I ran a 5k and by the end of it my knees were in a lot of pain. This has never happened before, Im conditioned to run that distance without issues. Im not sure if this is from the medicine but I can't think of anything that was different than usual. My mental clarity feels great. I can say Im feeling less depressed day by day. Its almost like a weight is being lifted off my shoulders every time I take my pill. I know there is hope to get better.

Im feeling very grateful to have the chance to take this treatment. I know there are many people who won't get this chance and it makes me sad. I just have so many things to be grateful for, and I'm feeling positive about my results this week.

Patrick.m18, congrats on getting half way there!! Goes by pretty quick, doesn't it? I think that part really amazed me, how quickly the time went by, when prior to treatment, 12 weeks (for me) sounded like an eternity!

Keep your eye on the goal, SVR 12 --- and all the best for a continued pleasant ride on the Harvoni Train.  FT

Patrick, I have a slender athletic build at 6'- 3" 175 lbs. My doctor told me to take 1000 iu of vitamin D3 every day during treatment. The label on the bottle states vitamin D3 supports bone, teeth, muscle, and immune health. During the twelve weeks of treatment,  I speed walked at 4 to 4-1/2 mph 8-10K every day.  It was the only exercise I did. Never experienced knee pain. I still speed walk every day and have increased my vitamin D3 intake to 2000 iu every day and have no knee pain. I should say my Rottweiler is my motivator. He gets antsy if he doesn't get his two walks in every day. I would run but my dog can not keep up with me.
