Title: Prisoners With Hep C Get Cured In Some States But Not Others
Post by: jberlin on October 13, 2016, 04:58:18 pm
Hello Hep C activists out there,

This seemed like an interesting discussion that at least belonged on this board.

“When you’re in prison, you have no other option, this is your only medical provider. You cannot get a second opinion; you can’t pay for it yourself. You are completely under the control of the Department of Corrections and their medical provider..."

Hi J,
The strange thing is that many prisoners were with the interferon when it first came out(according to my VA doctors).I have a feeling this is all about the money.

Can I get an explanation of 'opt out testing'?
Some states have this checked.
To me this means the prisoner has a choice to test or not, but looking at new mexico numbers (40% HCV positive) that does not make sense.

Thanks for posting
