Hi im new to this Forum and firstly wanted to say this forum is a great insigt to what other people experience and helps alot.
Ive just started my second treatment today as after the first treatment the virus relapsed.
I am a 68 year old woman and i first started treatment 6 years ago and now my new treatment is:
This time i have been given:
1 injection to take every week
Ribavarin - 3 tablets twice a day
Sovaldi/sofosbuvir - 1 tablet everyday
12 weeks treatment
I wanted to know is the above daily amounts normal and given to all
Patients as ive read some people only talk about the 1 tablet per day (sovaldi)
Any suggestions
Thanks people

Here in the US I am not aware of anyone using interferon.
Sovaldi is not taken alone if taking sovaldi it should be taken with ribavirin. The one pill a day treatment is Harvoni or Eclupsa. Harvoni is a combo pill of Sovaldi and Ledipasvir. Eclupsa is a combo pill of Sovaldi and velpatasvir
But which ever treatment you are taking is based on your genotype. Do you know what genotype of hep c you have? If we know your genotype then we can let you know what are the common treatments in the US.
Ribavirin is weight based usually patients take either 1000 mg/day if they weigh less than 75 kg or 1200 mg/day if they are over 75 kg. I am guessing the ribavirin you are taking is 200mg/pill so 600 mg in the morning and 600 mg in the evening.
What was your prior treatment interferon and ribavirin? Do you have any liver damage?

What is your genotype? It would be something like 1a, 1b, 2a, 2b etc. Which treatment is recommended depends on your genotype
