In a push to eliminate HCV here in Australia, now Nurse Specialists/Practitioners experienced in the management of HCV treatment are able to prescribe DAAs in many cases.
More complex cases are always referred to a hepatologist or gastroenterologist or infectious disease specialist.
This will reduce waiting lists and bottlenecks which may occur at that point of the treatment journey.
