Hello everyone. I'm new to these forums and learning how to navigate in here.
I learned I had hepc in 2001,not sure when I contracted, but I had gotten clean and sober 3/23/2001,found out through routine blood work with elevated enzymes. Viral loan is around 145,000 genotype 1a. Today I started Harvoni and so far so good. 3 hours into day 1. I'll read through some posts and it gives me great hope that I too can have similar results!

Stevelthomas: I have not been feeling well from a sore throats and
what seems to be a head cold, not much sleep last night either.
I took the 1st pill this morning, nothing to report that's
any different, other than the positive energy I am
focusing on . I'll post up more as the treatment
progresses forward.

Blood work pre Harvoni 4/27/2017

HCV Viral log 5.146
AST 115,
ALT 177
Viral load 140,026
Genotype 1a

Day 2, I'm sick from what I learned was a sinus infection from last week, otherwise
no issues. My question to the those of who have had the virus cleared:
Can you FEEL the difference knowing the virus is gone?
Are you noticing more energy or ?

Thanks

I can - that's for sure!
... Mind you - I was really unwell with Hep C - and for a long time - so the change was profound for me! ...

The change doesn't seem so dramatic for those who are asymptomatic - but, you know - your health is improving, and that's gotta be a good thing!

... Many people seem to become aware [in a way they hadn't necessarily been aware before] that they've been dragging a dead weight around with them for years.

Thanks Andrew! Congratulations!!!!  I'm super pumped,
even though I'm so called, asymptomatic, I've always
wondered if my energy should have been better, especially when I became
Clean and sober.

Yes ... that's a real indication of so-called asymptomatic Hep C.

Your energy should be improving - even now - but there is often a deeper recovery going on (because of long-term changes in your metabolism etc.) that may take a while to become noticeable.

... It's all good, though!

Best of luck with your Tx!

A.
