Title: Disability
Post by: littlebe on June 24, 2017, 10:54:12 pm
I have a question that one of my friends asked me but I don't know the answer. If you are cured of Hep C and are on Social Security Disability is it your responsibility to report it to Social Security that you have been cured of Hep C? Also can they take your disability away from you if you are cured? thanks LB

What is the basic of your disability claim that is what is your disabling medical condition?

As far as I am aware merely having hep c does not rise to the level required to qualify for social security disibility.

I have never heard so far of anyone being on social security disability with hep c being the cause of their disability.

Even people with advanced liver disease like I have liver cirrhosis don't automatically qualify for disability unless they have become decompensated with symptoms of for example hepatic encephalopathy.

The best person to ask would be your disability attorney.
