Title: treatment failure
Post by: treatfailure on July 29, 2017, 04:38:59 pm
In BC Canada and just failed Harvoni treatment. Had DNA testing to identify the drugs I am resistant to (the reason for the fail) and drugs that may work down the road.

I am 1a with stage 4 damage having probably had this thing for 40+ years. BC is not offering re-treatment at this time although they "may" be in a position in the fall of 2018.

I am interested in info on obtaining the "likely susceptible" drugs for my next attempt in a country where I could afford to pay myself.

All info greatly appreciated

Hi treatfailure. And welcome to the forums! Sorry to hear Harvoni didn't work for you.

You might want to have a look at the Redemption eTrials on the FixHepC website. A lot of people are buying their generic drugs that way. Very reliable route. So is Greg Jeffreys. In other words, not necessary to travel overseas anymore to buy generic. You'll find a variety of the new Hep C drugs available through the Redemption eTrials, including Eplclusa. Is that one on the list you were given of drugs that might work for you as retreatment options?

I'm in BC too! Nanaimo.

Hi Treatfailure - that sure is a bummer. I was going to say vosevi. Fingers crossed it is available for you soon.

My daughter lives in YVR, although I am in Australia. I do love Canada, a beautiful country.

Hi TF,

Vosevi (sofosbuvir/velpatasvir/voxilaprevir) isn't currently available as a generic but based on previous new drug introductions I would expect it to be available within the next couple of months.

There may also be other options that suit your resistance profile as there has been considerable successes during retreatment by adding sofosbuvir to standard treatments that don't already include it per below link. Currently Zepatier is not available as a generic however Viekera + Sof is although it is more expensive than the other generics at about $3k for 12 weeks. Hopefully this may assist in your discussions with your doctor.
