I dont know why but weird SH-IT keeps happening to me. I was in the bathroom of a mall, went to turn on the sink faucet and only to find out its broken and it shot water out like a hose. Water splashed everywhere including my face and eyes, what worries me is theres some red stuff in the sink not sure if its blood. When the water shot out it hit the sink hard where the red stuff were and carried it out the sink as it splash onto my face and eyes. Whats my risk? It really makes my blood boil how something like this so unlikely to happen always happens to me

Did hep c infected blood enter your blood stream? How could that possibly have occurred based on what you have described?
No it did not and could not have therefore nope, nada, none. No risk.
Have you had an opportunity to speak with a counselor about your anxiety as we previously spoke about that you should do?

There was no blood you were simply sprayed with water by a malfunctioning faucet.
It happens on occasion.

wouldnt it considered as mucous membrane exposure?

I had my fear/ocd under controlled past few months but then something like this happened and i freaked out. If it was blood in the sink would it pose a risk as strong water stream hitting the area and lifting it to my face/eyes? Im guessing the risk would be less than needlestik?

winkawak, HCV is considerably harder to catch than you fear. I had it for decades before it was diagnosed. During that time, spouse and I shared the same nail clipper, which often had my blood on it from cutting hangnails or cuticles too closely, and I sometimes accidentally used the wrong toothbrush when I had bleeding gums. Spouse never caught my HCV. I once asked my doctor what would happen if a mosquito poked me and then poked someone else, thus inserting my HCV-contaminated blood into the other person. My doctor said that wasn't a problem.

Have you been seeing a counselor or been treated with any anti anxiety medications or are you just trying to do it in your own? If you are just trying on your own I strongly suggest you get some help as you really cannot do this alone by force of will.
I generally quote the statistic that the risk of infection when a medical worker experiences an accidental needle stick involving a patient with known diagnosed hep c the risk of transmission is about 1.8%. This means that a needle was used on a person who has hep c so a small amount of their hep c infected blood is on the needle and then this needle is accidently stuck into the health care worker resulting in this small amount of blood potentially entering their blood stream. But even with that the risk is only 1.8%.
In your situation there was very likely no blood only your imagination. But even had there been blood this imaginary blood did not enter your blood stream. Which is why your risk is zero.
So yes zero is less than 1.8%
Please seek help for your anxiety
