Title: Understanding results
Post by: untreated on September 05, 2017, 01:16:15 pm
Hi there. I tested positive for Hep C last year in November 2016. i was put in to a treatment program. I am in Ireland, just so you know. Unfortunately my treatment, and that of all Irish people, has been postponed because of budget problems. It's a disaster. I have some mental health issues, which i don't want to get into right now, so this whole thing is very taxing on me.
Now, I took matters into my own hands and have gotten Harvoni to take. I will, however, be doing this without the aid of a hospital. I do have  fiber scan results from before but am not sure how to read them.
What I need now is help understanding my test results and advice on what blood tests i should be getting done during my treatment. I will be going to a private doctor and asking him to do the tests. Harvoni is not approved in Ireland so i will be doing this under the Radar.
Results Fiber scan: Cap (dB/m)   IQR 20 Median 196/  E[kPa]  IQR 1.0 IQR/med 18%   Median 5.7
Biochemistry: GGT (h) 204
 Coagulation: (L) 9.6

Not sure what any of this means. Takes over a week just to get a print off of these results.
Any help would be great, stepping into the unknown now. Fatigue is now getting to much. Heat around my liver, though i think that may be Psychosomatic and only occurs when i eat large meals, or read forums like this   ;D panic kicks in.
Anyway, any help would be good.

Can't right now, it is late here in Dublin. I will in the morning though.
Thank you for the other link you sent. It is very helpful.

Have found out how to scan, but it will not let me attach at present.
