No won't effect your treatment but if you have liver damage you should get back up and dust yourself off and climb back on that wagon.

Good luck

Ditto everything Lynn said. As long as you're taking every pill on schedule, keeping well hydrated, and not taking any medicine your doctor hasn't approved, you're doing what your hep C medicine needs. Avoiding beer is being as kind as possible to your liver -- it's been under siege and deserves TLC.

Wishing you well,

Gnatty

Just a random thought: I can't drink even one drop of alcohol. But way every once in a while I treat myself to a Busch NA (Busch beer non-alcoholic) with a slice of pizza. For me it just hits the spot without threatening my health.

One thing about NA beer it is not truely NA it actually has an alcohol content of 0.5% so not truely alcohol free same thing for NA wine like fre also has 0.5%

For for those with cirrhosis you may want to ask your doctor about NA beer or just save it for special occasions

I have been sober over 10 years about every 6 months I have an O'douls been doing that for a long time, only 1 with food like a big sandwich or some chili I love the taste of beer I also loved the effects so I am careful not to let my head run in the wrong direction. Is probably not safe for a real alcoholic to do this but I only quit drinking I didn't quit taking risks. Its does contain small amount of alcohol the big books says we cant even handle that, I beg to differ :)

If relapse has occurred my best suggestion is to stop ASAP I relapsed once after 5 years and stopped the next day I knew if it went to 2 days I was toast, I was blessed to be able to stop before things went real sideways, truly blessed.

That being said I hope your not on the treadmill again and have pulled up out.

Don't want to turn this into an AA meeting but I have been sober for 25 years and 11 months and I won't even do mouthwash if it has alcohol in it much less an NA beer. There might be people that can go back to a little alcohol every now and then but I don't know any of em. I know I couldn't. So be careful you are playing with fire and when it comes back and bites you just remember you knew it was a snake when you picked it up.

I started smoking pot a few months back. My choices were pain killers or try pot from my Dr. my experience with pain meds was they lead to a relapse they make me crave alcohol BAD so I knew that was not an option and a friend who was dying gave me some pot awhile back, since then he's died but he loved a little pot while he was going through the lengthy process of dying. One night I was in so much body pain I took a hit, with my mind made up if I felt like using I would do what ever it took not to drink but that craving never came and has never came since I've been using it.
I've been on this ride way to long not to know about who and what I am and what drugs and alcohol games get played in my head, and I know how extremely powerless I can be, I always check in with my higher power before making any big decisions :) I'm not completely sober any more I know that but i'm not going down that road again of alcohol and drug use like in the past, I have a higher power I am responsible to, I have myself and who I am to be responsible to and I have a purpose in this life I am responsible to carry out when it comes.
