Title: Elevated liver enzymes
Post by: Gail S. on February 16, 2018, 06:07:19 pm
Hi all,

It's been awhile.  I went through a 12 week treatment.  Everything was going fine.  Each of my lab panals looked fine up until the last one.  Now my Liver enzymes are elevated.  My docs recently ordered an Ultrasound which came back looking pretty normal.  Then I had a Liver biopsy.  The results show some mild inflammation at a cellular level.  So I have now bee referred to a Heppatologist who I will be seeing soon. So, just wondering if any or many of you have experienced this side effect.  It seems so strange that my Liver enzymes were actually fine prior to beginning my treatment and now,  right after treatment, enzymes are elevated.  Would like to hear from you !

Thanks,
Gail S.

Were you tested at 12 weeks post treatment to make sure the virus was no longer detected?

Have you been tested recently for HCV RNA by PCR or for hep A or Hep B antibodies?

Which enzymes are elevated and how high?

Also there are several things that can cause elevated liver enzymes that are not related to a hepatitis virus infection.
