Hello all. I really hope someone can help me. I'm new to this site so sorry if i go about it the wrong way but I'm so worried right not its hard. I had a sexual encounter 7 weeks ago and I got some results back a week after that which said i caught chlamydia. I had some antibiotics and cleared it. I had a follow up set of tests done on 6 weeks post exposure which was last week and I had a positive for Hepatitis B. My results are as stated on my results paperwork:
Anti-Hbs (cmia) <10 IU/1 Negative
Anti-Hbc igG Positive
Anti-Hbc igM Negative
It says underneath the results on my paperwork that the findings are consistent with a chronic Hepatits B infection or Naturally acquired immunity.
The thing is I had a test 6 weeks ago and after first exposure and it said i was Negative for everything. How can this be chronic so soon on this new test.
I really this makes sense and hope someone can help me out with any info they can i would be so happy.
Many thanks

Diagnosis of hep b is a more complex undertaking. Are you sure you were tested I the past for hep b?
A chronic infection would be a long standing infection of months not just 6 weeks. Were you vaccinated in the past for hep b?
Really they best way to gain understanding about your situation is to speak to your doctor.

Thanks for your reply. Yes I was tested for hep b. Is there anywhere way my body got rid of it very quick?
Is there anyway I can upload a pic so i can put my result paper work up.

“Is there anywhere way my body got rid of it very quick?”
I don’t know I am not a doctor or any type of medical worker. Lucinda is a nurse but otherwise we here are a community of patients primarily who are or were infected with hep c. Some like myself have advanced liver disease. This is a support community. We cannot offer medical opinion or diagnose medical conditions.
As I said hep b test results are more complex to interpret than hep c. This is why I strongly recommend you speak with your doctor.

I don’t think so. When I post a test result mine are available on line so I just copy and paste.
Ask your doctor. Call their office and see if you can talk to someone by phone or if not make an appointment for a consultation.
