Title: Treatment with mavyret after trans plant
Post by: Captrocko on May 13, 2018, 11:25:34 pm
Just received my first test results from,
Hep C quantitation test. Not sure where I stand. Started taking Mavyret 4 weeks ago, after transplant. The numbers are hep C quantization 30 I/u ml, and 1.477 log 10 I/u. Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks.

Congrats you have had a significant decrease in viral load to just nearly detectable which means the treatment is working. Also congrats on receiving your liver transplant.

While it is great to see not detected for your test result in treatment the only test that matters is the one 12 weeks after treatment has ended. On treatment testing means little and really is just to confirm you are taking your meds as everyone will either be not detected or very nearly so.

If you aren’t already aware the numbers you posted “30 I/u ml, and 1.477 log 10 I/u” are the same information expressed on 2 different number scales. One is normal counting numbers the other is the same number expressed on the logarithmic scale.

Best of luck

Thanks so much for the reply, I would of thought my numbers would of been higher, was born in early 66, and it's believed I had hep C after birth. Who knows, I'm dealing with it now, after ruining my liver, causing for transplant surgery. This is a wonderful forum and hope to read more replays. God bless you All.
