Title: 4 week testing - undetected! (and some other surprises) Input please
Post by: LucyLoo on August 24, 2018, 09:14:56 pm
I got my 4 week blood work back today. VL is undetected. Yay! This is what we’ve prayed for. However, I didn’t expect everything else to get better already and some things not at all....
It’ll be easier to just list my numbers- before and after.......

Initial Fibrosure test done and it was .78 (F4) - NOT RETESTED
My VL was 980,000 - NOW UNDETECTED
AST - 103 - NOW 24
ALT - 82.  - NOW 23
GGT - 122 - NOW 35
AFP - 71.9 - NOW 22.4!
AND MY THYROID NUMBERS ARE IN RANGE FOR THE FIRST TIME IN OVER 30 YEARS!

Looking at the above, you would think I went from an F4 to an F0 in 4 weeks. Can this even happen?
I’ve been walking along in a (glorious) fog all day wondering if someone mixed up my test results. Hubs says maybe these numbers are skewed while actually still on Harvoni.
Can anyone provide input here?

I get my results online, my dr appt isn’t until next week.

Happy for you. The liver numbers usually improve. Never heard of thyroid numbers improving, but good for you!

Congrats on the improved liver enzyme tests. When our livers are being actively injured by hep c we will have elevated liver enzyme levels. Having elevated liver enzymes does not relate to amount of liver damage that has occurred or is occurring it only means that something is bothering your liver right now. With having the hep c below detectable levels this means there is not as much or maybe any hep c virus to injure your liver.

I was diagnosed with cirrhosis 7 years before I was treated and cured of hep c. I continue to have normal ALT and AST but my platelets are still below normal although they have risen a little post treatment. I still have cirrhosis for 10.5 years now but I have normal liver enzymes.

Best of luck with the rest of your treatment
