Post by: almostfinished on January 01, 2019, 01:08:19 pm
An ill-defined band in the back gamma globulin
region is detected.
Further investigation with quantitation of serum
immunoglobulins is suggested.
Further investigation by immunofixation
electrophoresis is suggested.

“Making sense of serum protein bands

Serum protein bands (monoclonal gammopathy) will sometimes be found following serum protein electrophoresis in patients presenting with classic signs or symptoms of multiple myeloma, e.g. bone pain. In other cases, patients may have non-specific symptoms, meaning the discovery of a protein band in the serum is more unexpected.”
